Já vi em alguns grupos do Facebook várias pessoas perguntando como montar um currículo para enviar para agências de tradução. Também já vi em alguns blogs pessoas comentando que já receberam currículos com mais de 10 páginas. Daí surgiu a ideia de fazer este post de como montar um currículo.
Vou deixar pra vocês o modelo de currículo que eu utilizo. Este não é o único válido! É claro que há vários outros modelos, provavelmente até melhores que o meu, mas este servirá como base pra quem estiver se sentindo um pouco perdido nesta parte, que por sinal também é importantíssima, afinal, não deixa de ser nossa apresentação.
Dica #1 – Para elaborar seu currículo é preciso resumir ao máximo as informações, para que o mesmo não fique muito extenso e cansativo. Seja breve e objetivo. Seu currículo deve ter no máximo 2 páginas, com fonte Arial ou Times New Roman, tamanho 12 ou 14 de cor preta.
Dica #2 – Descreva sua experiência de modo geral, sem “aumentar” o que de fato é.
Dica #3 – Esqueça os hobbies!!! Isso faz parte da sua vida pessoal e não profissional.
Dica #4 – Não há necessidade de colocar foto no currículo, principalmente quando se trata de um tradutor freelancer, a menos que a empresa solicite um currículo com foto. Neste caso, utilize uma foto formal, com traje social, focada no rosto, dos ombros para cima, em um ambiente de trabalho, como por exemplo, seu escritório home office ou um fundo neutro (claro, de preferência).
Dica #5 – Esqueça e-mails do tipo htinha@xxx.com.br ou thiagomengao@xxxx.com ou até mesmo laila88@xxxx.com. Dê preferência por um e-mail mais profissional, como lailatradutora@xxxx.com ou tradutorthiago@xxxx.com.br ou mesmo um apenas com seu nome (como eu utilizo) lailacompan@gmail.com. O e-mail profissional é bom até mesmo para não misturar os assuntos que deixam sua caixa de entrada lotada fazendo com que você acabe perdendo uma oportunidade por falta de organização.
Dica #6 – Salve seu currículo em PDF para que ninguém possa alterá-lo.
Dica #7 – Envie o currículo em anexo, a menos que a empresa solicite que o mesmo seja enviado no corpo do e-mail.
Dica #8 – Apenas envie seu currículo para agências com as quais deseja trabalhar. Se não pretende trabalhar com determinada agência não se dê o trabalho de enviar o currículo para que a agência não tenha o trabalho de analisar.
Dica #9 – Evite erros ortográficos ou de digitação em seu currículo! Esses erros podem “queimar o filme” de qualquer pessoa que esteja em busca de um emprego, e sendo tradutor, precisamos redobrar o cuidado nessa hora.
Dica #10 – Informe os idiomas com os quais trabalha, assim como os cursos que já fez para se aperfeiçoar na área e as ferramentas que utiliza.

Mas atenção: caso você queira usar esse modelo como seu currículo, para conseguir editar é preciso fazer o download para o seu computador ou celular.

A minha dúvida é se ao ver que presto serviço para algumas empresas a atual empresa que estou mandando currículo pensaria que não tenho tempo disponível para trabalhar para ela o que não é verdade pois as empresas que presto serviço estão com pouca demanda atualmente.

Oi, Juliana! Pode incluir desde que não tenha assinado algum contrato dizendo que não poderia mencionar que trabalha para tal empresa. Isso não tem problema. Os PMs sabem as demandas não são eternas e que pode ter um espacinho na sua agenda para agências novas, sem falar que geralmente mandam mensagem perguntado se você está disponível para receber um projeto.
Eu não tenho nenhum histórico profissional para colocar no meu currículo. Eu também não tenho nenhum curso superior, isso seria um problema? Eu lembro de uma vez que um tradutor falou o que eles querem é o resultado final, a qualidade e velocidade de entrega, nunca perguntaram para esse tradutor onde ele estudou, se fez faculdade ou não.
Wellington, quando se trata de um cliente direto, realmente ele só está interessado no resultado final, mas se você pretende trabalhar com agências, vai precisar de um bom CV.

nossa adorei seu modelo de CV e penso em adotá-lo, claro, fazendo as adaptações necessárias, certo? Por favor, gostaria de sugestão porque entrei na área da tradução há pouquíssimo tempo, há exatamente seis meses.
Sou graduada em Letras, especialista em gestão pedagógica e muitos, muitos anos mesmo como professora de inglês e coordenadora de escolas de idiomas. Ou seja, tenho pouca experiência "oficial" como tradutora.
Estou fazendo o curso de Tradutor e Intérprete pelo Brasillis da Sheyla Carvalho e desde agosto participo do grupo de tradutores voluntários da organização TED no qual, apesar do pouco tempo, já tenho alguns trabalhos de tradução / transcrição / legendagem publicados, alguns, inclusive, como revisora (totalizando cerca de 100 minutos).
Fiz contato com uma editora oferecendo meus serviços e a mesma solicitou que enviasse um CV.
Então, a dúvida é quanto ao histórico profissional – esta parte pretendo colocar o que lhe escrevi acima, mas e quanto ao local de trabalho, já que trabalho em casa e por conta própria? O que escrevo? E trabalhos do tipo "abstract" que fiz para alguns colegas da minha segunda graduação (enfermagem), devo citá-los, concorda? Você acha que devo mencionar os trabalhos anteriores como professora e coordenadora ou vai ficar "boring"?

Em seu CV você pode colocar que é tradutora autônoma ou freelancer (escolha o termo de sua preferência).
Cite os trabalhos que você já fez de forma genérica se tiver sido para cliente pessoa física (ex. tradução e versão de abstract para diversos clientes). Se quiser citar que trabalhou para algum cliente pessoa jurídica, como freelancer, verifique com o cliente se pode citá-lo em seu CV (alguns clientes não aceitam ser mencionados).
Se pretende trabalhar somente como tradutora/revisora, não é necessário mencionar trabalhos anteriores que não tenham a ver com a função.
