Todo tradutor precisa de clientes. Sem clientes não temos trabalho. Sem trabalho, não temos dinheiro.
Uma das tarefas mais complicadas, na minha opinião, é justamente a de conseguir clientes (seja cliente direto ou agência de tradução), pois hoje em dia a concorrência é muito grande, e pelo fato da profissão de tradutor não ser regulamentada, qualquer pessoa pode atuar na carreira.
Devido aos fatos citados, achei interessante escrever esse post com 5 dicas de como se organizar para conseguir clientes.
1- Analise o que você faz (legenda, interpretação, tradução de vídeo game, técnica, jurídica), como faz (ou seja, seu diferencial para fazer isso) e por que você faz isso. De preferência, escreva. Quando colocamos nossas idéias no papel, não ficam tão vagas. Neste site há uma tabela que vai te auxiliar bastante para fazer esta análise.
2- Defina sua especialidade. Muitos podem pensar que fazendo de tudo terão mais oportunidades, mas lembre-se que se queremos ter clientes, nosso trabalho precisa ter qualidade. Às vezes, quem faz tudo não faz nada direito.Busque trabalhar com áreas que tenha conhecimento e que sejam de seu interesse para que não venha a se transformar em algo chato. Ao definir com o que deseja trabalhar, será mais fácil conseguir encontrar os clientes certos.
3- Acesse um site de busca e pesquise sobre os profissionais que já atuam nessas áreas escolhidas. Assim, você pode ter uma noção da demanda do mercado.
4- Seu trabalho tem valor, e é preciso saber que valor o cliente percebe: quais vantagens ele receberá ao contratar o serviço, que problemas resolveremos, quais barreiras transpassaremos para favorecê-lo.
5- Invista em um cartão de visita e o utilize sempre que houver uma oportunidade. Mesmo que você trabalhe em casa e a maioria dos seus clientes tenham sido encontrados através da Internet, é importante ter um cartão para ser lembrado. O Networking é muito importante em nossa profissão, por isso, caso esteja em algum evento, é bom ter seu cartão de visitas para ser lembrado, ainda mais se seu cartão for criativo e diferente dos tradicionais.Espero que essas dicas sejam úteis para começar a carreira!
