Quem quer ser um bom profissional precisa obedecer certas regras que muitas vezes não são ditas abertamente, mas que são essenciais para diferenciar o seu trabalho no meio de uma multidão de tradutores, portanto fique atento!


Estude sempre! Um bom profissional está sempre em busca de atualizações, aprimoramentos e profissionalização. 

Faça o seu melhor! Seja para cliente novo ou para um cliente antigo, seu trabalho deve ter uma qualidade impecável.
Mantenha as informações em sigilo total! Não revele os dados confidenciais de nenhum cliente, em hipótese alguma.
Obedeça as instruções do cliente! Siga todas as instruções que o cliente passar e não altere a formatação original do arquivo, a menos que isso seja solicitado. 
Pedir ajuda não é feio! Quando tiver dúvidas ou não souber algo, peça ajuda aos colegas. Isso não fará de você um tradutor pior, muito pelo contrário.
Saiba dizer não! Se você não possui especialização e conhecimento necessário para traduzir um projeto sobre determinado tema, não aceite. Ser profissional não é saber tudo, necessariamente. É melhor ser especializado em apenas uma área, mas ser o melhor naquilo que faz, do que traduzir tudo o que aparece, e fazer um trabalho medíocre.
Seja humilde! Com o passar do tempo e com o costume de traduzir, pode ser que algumas pessoas esqueçam a humildade pelo caminho, porém um bom profissional deve ser humilde o suficiente para reconhecer os seus próprios erros.
Seja pontual! Jamais atrase a entrega de um trabalho.
Tenha ética! Não desmereça o trabalho dos colegas. Se discorda de algo não critique, simplesmente, mas sugira algumas ideias para ajudar a melhorá-lo.
Valorize seu trabalho! Se você desvalorizar seu trabalho, o cliente fará o mesmo.
