Para quem está começando a carreira ou pretende começar, é muito importante que pesquise sobre o tipo de trabalho que será realizado, os desafios a serem enfrentados e se possível, entre em contato com profissionais que já atuam na área há algum tempo.

Há vários livros (sejam físicos ou e-books) que também auxiliam o Tradutor Iniciante no começo da carreira. Um deles é o “Batalhas de um Tradutor Iniciante”, de Ana Honrado. 
Ana entrou em contato comigo por e-mail e me falou sobre o livro. Decidi pesquisar um pouco mais sobre ele na internet além de ler e conferir que tem muitas dicas interessantes para quem está começando a carreira e ainda se sente um pouco perdido. Como a minha intenção aqui é de ajudar quem está começando, estou indicando para quem quiser aprender um pouco mais.
Algo que me encantou e gostaria de dividir com vocês foi o trecho no qual Ana Honrado escreve: “Acredito que o tradutor tem a sua própria cultura e como um ator, veste a de outros em momentos em que tem de traduzir para pessoas diferentes, com línguas diferentes, isto porque cada cultura tem a sua forma de estar, agir e fazer-se ouvir.” E ainda “Trabalhar como tradutora, de certa forma, é como receber para trabalhar em causa própria.”
Sobre a Autora: “Ana Honrado formou-se em Tradução na Universidade Católica Portuguesa de Lisboa em 2007.
Efectuou uma especialização em Direito na Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa e uma Pós-graduação em Turismo no ISLA (áreas em que trabalha maioritariamente), assim como outros pequenos workshops.
Trabalhou em locais como PME’s de tradução, Embaixada da Índia e TAP, assim como em algumas Editoras nacionais, empresas de tradução internacionais (como freelancer) e Seguradoras de Crédito.
Lança em 2013 o seu livro intitulado “Batalhas de um Tradutor Iniciante”, com o qual pretende, não só, partilhar, como relembrar alguns factos relacionados com a tradução e também alguma da experiência adquirida quer nestes 7 anos de trabalho quer durante os anos de curso.
Trabalha como tradutora freelancer desde 2007.”
