Esse post foi feito com muito carinho, porque além de ser para ajudar a todos os Tradutores Iniciantes, ele é o complemento de uma resposta à uma pergunta feita por uma leitora do blog. A pergunta foi a seguinte:
“No caso de clientes que estão em outros países, como ficaria a questão de conciliar nosso horário de trabalho com o deles (por causa do fuso horário), na sua opinião?”
Quem trabalha por conta própria precisa estar em sintonia com o mercado para conseguir sua demanda de trabalho. Sendo assim, o ideal é você conciliar seu horário com o horário do seu cliente.
Se a maioria dos meus clientes está online, ou está sujeita a me enviar trabalhos durante o horário comercial (das 8h às 18h), eu procuro trabalhar durante este horário. Às vezes acontece de algum cliente entrar em contato comigo após as 18h e perguntar se posso fazer determinada tradução, seja porque recebeu naquele momento, ou porque esqueceu durante o dia, ou por qualquer outro motivo.
Já teve casos nos quais recebi trabalho após as 20h, ou seja, após meu horário de trabalho, mas nem por isso deixei de fazer. O cliente perguntou se eu poderia e eu aceitei.
Mas voltando ao caso do fuso horário, se seus clientes não precisarem das traduções para ontem, ou seja, se você tiver um prazo de pelo menos 24h para a entrega do trabalho, talvez você não precise ficar “de plantão” das 22h às 4h, por exemplo.
Outro detalhe é informar ao cliente que o fuso horário dele é diferente do seu, para que ele entenda que pode ser que você demore algumas horas para responder determinado e-mail.
Já ouvi alguns casos de tradutores que preferem trabalhar durante a noite porque são mais produtivos nesse horário, ou porque não tem ninguém para atrapalhar/distrair sua atenção, ou sei lá o que…
O bom é que hoje em dia, com a tecnologia podemos entrar em contato com qualquer pessoa de qualquer parte do mundo de forma rápida e barata. Seu cliente pode falar com você (em um caso mais urgente) através do Skype, do WhatsApp ou até mesmo do telefone, caso ele ache que a resposta por e-mail possa demorar. Portanto, dou uma dica: se o computador não estiver ligado e conectado à internet, pelo menos mantenha seu celular ligado 24h e com todos esses aplicativos instalados e disponíveis para receber as mensagens.
Por último, fique atento aos horários dos seus clientes e à demanda de trabalho que eles têm para enviar. Isso ajudará você a definir seu horário de trabalho.
